In June and again in September of 2005, the Digital Towpath Project was recognized for its innovative approach to increasing citizens' access to local government.
The first award, a Best of NY award for an Application Serving the Public from the Center for Technology in Government and Government Technology magazine, qualified the Digital Towpath Project for a display booth at the GTC East 2005 Exhibition, Government Solutions Center.
The second award, a Best Practices award for Policy from the NYS Forum for Information Resource Management recognized the collaborative effort that developed and still sustains the Digital Towpath project.
